Retail Careers

We are not in the coffee business serving people, we are in the people business serving coffee.

Our story began in 1971 in the US. Back then, we were a roaster and retailer of whole bean and ground coffee, tea and spices with a single store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market. Today we are privileged to welcome millions of customers through our doors every day, in more than 50 countries. The first Starbucks store in The Netherlands was opened in 2007 at Schiphol Airport. Since that moment we -together with our licensed partners - rapidly expanded our stores across The Netherlands.

The chances are that this will be like no place you’ve ever worked. This is deliberate, as we strive to be the best place to work, a place that people actively seek to join, and stay to build their careers. We try to create an environment that is lively, exciting and full of enthusiasm. We’re growing in dynamic new ways and we recognize that the right people offering their ideas and expertise will enable us to continue our success in building a different type of company in the Netherlands.

Interested in becoming a Starbucks partner?

If you are interested in the position of Barista you are asked to fill out the application form and provide us with your CV. You can collect the form at one of our company owned Stores or simply download it here.

Please take the completed form together with your CV to your preferred store and ask for the manager who is on duty. If we have a vacancy, we will set up an interview.

If we’re not recruiting at the moment, don’t worry – with your permission we’ll share your details with other stores in the area in case they’re looking for new partners.

Store Management

If you are interested in the position of Shift Supervisor, Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager, you are asked to complete your application through our on-line system.

If we like what we see and you show us that you’ve got the skills to do the job, you will be invited for an interview with one of our resourcing specialists and the hiring manager.

We call our corporate office a “support center” for a good reason—everything we do there is to support our retail store partners and in turn, make an impact on the communities we serve. There are opportunities for professionals across diverse business groups and geographies in our regional offices and global support centers. Take a look through each group below to find out more about what they do. Maybe you’ll find the opportunity that’s been waiting here for you.
